If your organization is using Claravine to generate Google Campaign Manager (GCM) or Facebook Ads Manager naming taxonomies, the Names may be generated by a third-party partner and you need to validate the Name and components are accurate before the campaign launches on the platform.

If the file does not include the breakdown of component values, follow these steps to easily split the Names by the delimiter.

Excel Split Text to Column

  1. Open the file with the Name, delete any data in the columns to the right.

  2. Highlight and copy Column A (Placement Name) into Column B (copied Placement Name).

  3. Highlight Column B.

  4. Go to the Data menu.

  5. Select Text to Columns.

  6. In the Convert Text to Columns Wizard, choose Delimited, click Next.

  7. Check the box for the delimiter or select Other and enter the delimiter used in the naming taxonomy. This example uses an underscore (_) delimiter.

  8. Click Finish.

  9. Excel will split the Column B values into columns that you can copy and paste into the Claravine template to validate the Name and components provided by the partner.

  3. Highlight Column B (copied Placement Name).

  4. Go to the Data menu.

  5. Select Split Text to Columns.
  6. A small menu appears to define the Separator. Select the delimiter or select Custom and enter the delimiter used in the naming taxonomy. This example uses an underscore (_) delimiter.
